Diagnostics: Beyond the silver bullet!

We have all been told we must have a process; this class outlines a process used to approach all facets of customer concerns as well as providing resources to aid in creating and sticking to the process. Every level of technician, service advisor and manager will leave with their own "golden nugget" of knowledge out of this class. This class also sets the foundation for all of L1 Trainings other classes, as they all follow along this outline.

Advanced Electrical Diagnostics: Being fast and effective! (I short updated version of my TST big event class I did)

This class is designed for all levels of technicians by providing a quick refresher to bring the new to electrical diagnosis technicians up to speed, as well as solidifying the foundations for all the advanced level technicians. Then we jump feet first into all the tricks that mobile diagnostic technicians use, from scopes and test lights to thermal imaging and circuit board level analysis. We cover leveraging wiring diagrams for ALL diagnosis. The class then dives into advanced tooling uses, as well as testing methods to increase your efficiency and accuracy as a diagnostician.

ADAS: Successful Calibrations & Troubleshooting

This class is designed to assist technicians that are new to ADAS in creating successful processes and procedures to properly calibrate the most popular static and dynamic ADAS systems. We will briefly cover ADAS sensors and their operation to build a fundamental knowledge of ADAS systems. We will cover troubleshooting and common pitfalls for the advanced ADAS technician and newcomers alike.

I have been in the industry over 18 years, serving in various capacities, including; engine machinist and assembler, dyno tuner, diagnostic technician, instructor, technical information specialist, and many more roles through the years.  I own the L1 Auto Group, we have a repair facility (Level 1 Automotive) in Tulsa Oklahoma, a mobile company (L1 Automotive Diagnostics and Programming) that has technicians providing programming, diagnostic, ADAS services and Key & Immobilizer solutions to other repairs shops and collision centers in both our Tulsa and Oklahoma City markets.  I also have a training company (L1 Automotive Training) that provides online training content on demand at www.L1Training.com, on-site training for other shops, training expos, and schools. Our training company holds several commercial and government contracts both in country and abroad. We also develop curriculum for many other automotive training companies.  I currently hold the title of ASE Master Certified L1 Technician, holding ASE certifications: A1-A9, L1, L4, X1, P2, xEV Level 2 and various other industry certifications, I also serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the ASE A1, A2, A7, L1 and L4 test.  I also have the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors of NASTF.
